Champagne : Queen of wines - French Wine Tours

The greatest sparkling wines in the world - Moët, Krug, Pol Roger…and so much more.

Day 1

· Arrive at Reims train station or airport. You will be personally escorted to our hotel, Les Crayères.
·
Time to relax and settle in.
·
Pre-dinner tasting of champagnes conducted by your wine expert and the hotel’s sommelier.
·
We dine in the hotel at the incredible Restaurant Boyer, Michelin three-starred.

Day 2

· After a leisurely breakfast, we take our private transport into Reims for our first tasting at the house of Taittinger, founded in 1734. Incredibly consistent, these wines always impress with their nuances of honey, vanilla, citrus and brioche.
·
We move on to the house of Roederer, founded in 1776 with strong links to the Russian Czars. Full-bodied wines with enticing aromas of juniper and honey.
·
We take lunch at the restaurant Millénaire in the centre of Reims. The freshest produce, the finest local cuisine, and superb wines.
·
Our afternon tasting is at the house of Krug, founded in 1843. Small but highly influential. Their wines represent an incredible aromatic palette - toasted flavours, chocolate, mocca, dried fruit, liquorice…
· Back to our hotel to relax before dinner at the Restaurant Boyer, another selection of their amazing cuisine matched with exquisite champagnes.

Day 3

· After breakfast we head to the town of Epernay, the twin centre of the Champagne region, and to our first tasting at the house of Pol Roger, founded in 1849, and much favoured by Sir Winston Churchill. Aromas of buttered bread, fern, white and yellow fruit - complexity and finesse.
·
We move on to the house of Charles Heidsieck, founded in 1851. Wines with a floral nose and always well-balanced.
·
We lunch at the Michelin-starred Les Bercaux in Epernay itself.
·
Our final tasting is at the home of the single most important champagne brand in the world - Moët & Chandon, founded by Claude Moët in 1743. Taste history, artistry and finesse.
·
Time to relax at our hotel.
·
Grand farewell dinner at the Restaurant Boyer, with dishes chosen and prepared by chef Boyer himself. And a little champagne, of course…

Day 4

· A leisurely breakfast. We will personally escort you to Reims train station or airport for your onward connections.
