As our service is very much tailor-made, it's entirely appropriate that we include some feedback from our customers, not for reasons of self-aggrandisement (well, OK, a bit), but to assure you by third-party comment that we actually do what we promise we can do. As the proverb has it, "too humble is half proud".

"We cannot thank you enough for arranging our tour of the Bordeaux region - it was truly a dream come true. The tour allowed us to see the chateaux we wanted to see at our pace, while allowing us to feel at home in some very pleasant surroundings. When we read a write-up of the Bordeaux region in either Travel and Leisure or Conde Nast Traveller, we cannot help but smile. Your attention to detail, regional knowledge, and flexibility made our tour very memorable and we look forward to working with you again in the future."

"I can't believe how truly fortunate I was to make contact with you, as the trip was sensational beyond all expectations. From organizing visits to the top chateaux, to arranging a driver, to keeping us on schedule and offering suggestions on where to go and what to do, you were always spot on. Thank you for a wonderful trip and I look forward to seeing you in France again soon."

"Thank you so very much from all four of us. It was all brilliant. We will definitely send you referrals in future."

"Thank you for arranging our two day wine adventure. We really enjoyed ourselves, and learned a lot more about the wines of the regions we visited. You really put a nice itinerary together for us. Prior to this trip we were unfamiliar with French wines, and often would buy wines from California which we were more familiar with. We are still novices, but we feel that we have an enhanced appreciation for the wine now which will allow us to enjoy it that much more."

"We were two couples who contacted John Sherwin for advice on a one week wine-tasting tour through the Rhone Valley. We left John to make all the arrangements for transport, hotel bookings, evening meals and visits to wineries and other places of interest. The planning of places to visit and the timetable for the week were well chosen, flexible and not crammed. John was extremely good about changes in the plan and was willing to add or drop something at our request - nothing was too much trouble. All the visits and tastings which John had arranged were successful, enjoyable and informal. His command of French and knowledge of local customs were indispensable. By the end of the tour we were good friends having had some wonderful times together and certainly a lot of fun. John's informal manner and dry sense of humour made him good company and very easy to be with. We would highly recommend John Sherwin to anyone wishing to find out more about French wines."

We spent a week on a wine tour of Burgundy and Beaujolais guided by John and Vivienne Sherwin, and we would recommend the experience to anyone who loves wine. John is highly knowledgeable about wine and is fluent in French; he is also good at on-the-fly interpretation, which not everyone is even when they're fully bilingual. We tasted many excellent wines at small wineries off the beaten path where the vintners were personable and eager to share their knowledge through John's interpretation. The pacing of the tastings was also excellent: we both felt that he worked in the maximum number that we could appreciate in a given day, without hitting a 'sensory overload';.

Beyond that, John and Vivienne were excellent travelling companions. One of the strange highlights of the trip was the Sunday lunch we ate on the terrace of the restaurant at a little private airfield near Bagnols. We sat and chatted about many things, watching light aircraft towing gliders and setting them free in the blue.

John's recommended restaurants for dinners were uniformly excellent, ranging up to outstanding.
